News Changes to legislation Legislation has recently changed so that you must now commission an EPC before marketing the property with a view of having the EPC completed no later than 7 days after marketing has begun. The onus for the commissioning of the EPC lies with the owner or landlord of the property. Trading Standards officers now also have the power to request documentation to prove that an EPC has been commissioned where a property is marketed without a valid EPC.
